Released in February 2002, Xenosaga Episode I was the beginning of an unforgettable videogame saga featuring a majestuous soundtrack composed by Yasunori Mitsuda.

This original soundtrack edition features all 45 tracks originally used in the game, and includes bonus tracks such as “Pain -piano version-” and the previously unreleased orchestral piece “World to be born”.  Furthermore, the three tracks “Nukumori” “Beach of Nothingness” and “Green Sleeves” which were originally programmed synth tracks at the time of the previous release, are now recorded with live performances.

The two-disc CD set is structured to clearly showcase Yasunori Mitsuda's Xenosaga music: Disc 1 contains only live-recorded tracks, featuring the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Metro Voices choir, and vocal pieces by the legendary Joanne Hogg; Disc 2 contains only the programmed tracks. This is the definitive edition of Yasunori Mitsuda's vision of Xenosaga. This release features a new jacket design and newly written liner notes.
